Seminar Offerings by Sandra Bourne

• The two day Focus and Handling seminar in Sudbury weekend of Aug 20th was a huge success. Sandra and Lisa demonstrated some excellent methods for getting your dog and yourself focused on the game all the while keeping a positive attitude. Handling tough situations at trial were covered as well she gave us some fantastic thoughts for a more efficient way to train around tight corners including serps and threadles. We touched on how to stay positive as a trainer and give the most to your students. There was something for every level of competitor. Thank you Sandra we enjoyed every minute of it!  Brenda-Ann

• Uplifting! Sandra left me feeling energized, positive and definitely more knowledgeable. Often other dog seminars have been very generic and jam packed with the agenda of the presenters who have covered too wide a range of information leaving no time to respond to individuals and their dogs. Sandra covered just the right amount of information that could be mastered in a weekend seminar and brilliantly reviewed the material when she applied it to specific dogs and their handlers’ problems. I am so pleased to walk away from the weekend knowing that my dog was performing infinitely much better because I was understanding and applying my handling more efficiently for my present skill level.

• As a relatively new and dubious handler, Sandra’s positive approach took away performance anxiety. I heard cheering when I caught myself in an error and the resulting comment – “give that handler a cookie” made me feel that I was making progress, not messing up. My dog and I were never disparaged for what we hadn’t accomplished, only encouraged and recognized for each small improvement. Such a simple comment -“I like this dog” - made me feel my dog and I had a chance to really learn to play this game of agility.

• I would definitely take additional workshops from Sandra as I trust she has so much more I would like to add to my tool box of understanding dogs and also dogs in agility. Sandra’s knowledge and experience is apparent but she inspires confidence by sharing that she is human and accepting– a very admirably combination. – Karen
